Word Magic Translator Live and Mobile

We have just launched two new applications in partnership with Word Magic Soft. One is an Adobe AIR application and the other is a Google Android Mobile application. Both leverage our new service for Word Magic Soft. These applications leverage their English <-> Spanish translation engine. Additionally, it allows spell check in either language, verb conjugation, dictionary and thesaurus capabilities.

Keep up with MMA JACS 5000!

So in order to keep up with MMA JACS 5000, we launched its own site: <a href="http://www.mmajacs5000.com" target="_self">http://www.mmajacs5000.com</a>. From there, you can get to the MMA JACS 5000 Facebook and Twitter feed.

So in short, we have had EXPLOSIVE growth with this product. We have been doing King of the Cage events, promotions with Fight Night Entertainment, West Coast Fight Club, and of course my old friends, Desert Rage Full Contact Fighting. Speaking of which, we have an event there this weekend in Yuma, AZ - Nov. 7th at Cocopah Casino!

Check us out because I guarantee you will see more of MMA JACS 5000!

MMA JACS 5000 unveiled at Desert Rage 5!

Mixed Martial Arts Judging Analysis Computerized System 5000 is a new state of the art, patents pending, method for judging competitive mixed martial arts events effectively replacing the traditional "10 Point Must" system. MMA JACS 5000 utilizes three human judges who manipulate a hand held controller to increment "Merits of Action" for a fighter.

"Merits of Action" are awarded based on the actual movements of the fighter which is broken down into the following categories: Standing Arm Strike, Standing Leg Strike, Ground Arm Strike, Ground Leg Strike, Takedown Attempt, Takedown Defense, Submission Attempt, Submission Defense, Standing Aggression, and Ground Aggression. Judges will manipulate the joysticks to reflect those movements and then, real-time, utilizing the MMA JACS 5000 proprietary algorithm, the more competitive fighter is determined. With the conclusion of the fight, the winner can be determined by the push of a button.

MMA JACS 5000 allows for a fully redundant, robust, and managed system that tracks and records every action of the judges. This will help develop a track record for judges. Additionally, a fighter score is determined based on the fighters "Merits of Action" thus creating a track record for the fighter. This will allow promotions the ability to better match fighters as well as hire judges and provide an "air" of legitimacy to the scoring of a MMA event.

Lastly, fighters now have a set of criteria to which they know they are being judged. This ultimately will create more exciting fights for the fans, fighters, and promotions further enhancing the sport. By eliminating any possible fan and fighter concerns of judge bias or error, MMA JACS 5000 strives to become the model of judging for the future of mixed martial arts.

MMA JACS 5000 the new evolution in Mixed Martial Arts judging because 5000 is better than 1!

Flex Benchmarks!!

CFuze has been using Flex, ColdFusion, AIR, and the AMF protocols for quite a few years now, but lately we have been discussing a change in strategy. Not away from these products but in how we can make them even faster and manage memory better to build even more stable applications. While cruising the internet and blogs, I happened upon an amazing application built by James Ward, <a href="http://www.jamesward.com" target="_blank">http://www.jamesward.com</a> which benchmarks Flex data calls using the variety of methods, SOAP, AJAX, JSON, DOJO, etc. An amazing application that really demonstrates the benefits gained by using remoting.

The application can be found here: <a href="http://www.jamesward.com/census" target="_blank">http://www.jamesward.com/census</a>

LaRue Tactical Weapon Profiler has a new domain!

Due to the overwhelming success of the LaRue Tactical Weapon Profiler, we had to move it to its own site.

It can now be found at: <a href="http://www.larueprofiler.com" target="_blank">http://www.larueprofiler.com</a>

This amazing tool has become a major hit in the airsoft community and has users from all around the world. Stay tuned as we continue to improve upon the already successful design.

Additionally, it has initially been entered into the 2008 Adobe MAX awards. Wish us luck!

New Component for Download - CF_GoogleImages

A personal project came up where I needed to be able to return the first photo of the google image search; kind of like, google's get lucky for images. I wanted to be able to get the photo, copy it and resize it to my server, then take the new path, store it in the database so it can be displayed in a grid. It works amazingly well and is even better when you utilize flash remoting with your flash cfform. Anyway, I have simplified and documented the CFC and it is available for anyone to download in the downloads section. I plan on releasing more of my personal components, UDF's, and custom tags pretty soon, so please come back and check!

If you have any problems or questions, please just comment on this blog for others!

SQLi Attacks and CFuze

So with the rash of SQL Injection attacks happening on ColdFusion sites, CFuze would like to state that all of our sites have always used <code><cfqueryparam></code> from the beginning. CFuze prefers to have a quite pessimistic view on security, in that, we believe you can never have too much of it. It is surprising to us, that many sites have never used that tag and further more that many sites do not even leverage the ease of CFC's. It is important that any ColdFusion based site leverage every tag given to us by Adobe as they all have a purpose and a function that ultimately, only simplifies our job as developers.

For all of those who were attacked, we hope the damage was minimal, and for all of our clients who are worried, do not fear a SQLi attack. CFuze has always kept your site safe!
